Welcome to our team site. We are "The Hotfuzzers" Please ensure that between 16th and 19th July, if you are driving on the continent, between Lille and Barcelona, that you have all of your documents to hand as you never know you may be pulled over!!
When we were approached to take part in this event we started to trawl the net to find the car that fit the bill! With a limit of £250 to spend and other factors that we needed such as Left Hand Drive, we soon found that our options were very slim!! After much consideration we decided to purchase this one and only Opel Senator!!
The senator actually spent a lot of its life in Switzerland and we thought that this was a good homing and that it would bring us luck.......or just help us to finish the rally!!
So off we went, trailer attached to collect the beloved. Much to our amazement after it had been stood for 12 years, all it needed was a strong tow rope to drag it from the lock up in sunny Chelmsley Wood, a few cans of fresh fuel and a lashing of easy start and before we knew it the old bird kicked into life!
Now having passed its MOT with flying colours........well.....almost, a few corroded brake pipes and rear coil springs later "La Senator" is now in the land of the living. This is where we start our name dropping. Many thanks to Andy at A&S Autos, Netherton who donated his valuable time to this worthy cause. He too has been touched by our charity and he did all his hard work free of charge, which we are eternally grateful for! P.S. Andy if youre reading this, keep your mobile on during these dates and have your passport at the ready as you just never know who might need you!!
She is currently in the process of get her face lift, as we felt she needed a pick me up! Having said that some of the laughter lines she has do seem quite permanent, so we'll wait and see!!
